Home Dental Service

Let’s be clear. This is not a promotion for the Home Dental Service we (my wife & I) used last week at home. We wanted to share our experience for the information of residents at The Virtuoso.

When we got the lead from some of the residents of The Virtuoso about a Home Dental Service, we were quite sceptical. As would a lot of people, who’re only used to seeking appointments at “well known & referred” Dental Clinics or Hospitals. We used one such clinic for decades at Koramangala.

So, we just booked a “Consultation” appointment with Dr. Ashwin Devanarayanan & his wife Dr. Apoorva Iyengar. They came on schedule and examined us. An X-Ray was taken for each of us and he explained the issues on their laptop screen. They had already come to operate on another resident – and so, we could see their entire “kit” that included a chair for the operations.

The whole “kit” is portable. That was a total surprise to us. And they use sealed instruments that they open in front of us before operating. They also record their findings on case sheets that they leave with the patient. Surprisingly, the handwriting is super clear! 😃

My wife had 3 teeth RC’d (Root Canal-ed) and capped with the best materials.

Given that they are not more expensive than some of the best Dentists around, the home service is real boon for seniors.

All in all, we were quite happy with the whole exercise. Root Canals, Preparing the teeth, Caps & tooth extraction.
